The Effects of China’s Participation in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP): A Quantitative Assessment

This paper aims to quantify the effects of China’s participation in Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), particular by focusing on possible productivity through endogenous assignment skills technologies. In this paper, we develop a large-scale global computable general equilibrium (CGE) model which firms are heterogeneous technologies workers individual skill levels so that skill–technology assignments endogenously determined. study contributes literature with new CGE modeling application recent important issue international trade. By calibrating 23 countries regions, CPTPP. Due positive real reallocation workers, results show CPTPP may generate significantly higher productivity, GDP, welfare compared previous conventional models based simplistic representative agent frameworks at given productivity. Globally, average, manufacturing sector, number exporting firms, increase 0.52%, 19.62%, 1.36%, USD 3.41 billion, respectively.
